This Editorial Policy explains how MobilityScooterLab selects topics, evaluates sources, uses technology, reviews content, handles commercial relationships, and corrects mistakes. It applies to buying guides, educational articles, comparisons, travel information, maintenance and safety content, and news or trend analysis.
We choose subjects that address a practical reader need: selecting a scooter, understanding common designs, comparing mobility options, planning transportation, caring for batteries, maintaining equipment, or following changes that may affect accessibility and ownership. Search interest can reveal common questions, but it is not our only criterion. A topic must fit the site’s mobility-scooter focus and offer a realistic opportunity to provide accurate, useful information.
We avoid publishing pages whose main purpose is to repeat unverified marketing claims, manufacture urgency, target a broad keyword with little relevance, or create a ranking that cannot be supported. News coverage must be connected to a verifiable announcement, policy, public record, or other credible development. If recent evidence is insufficient, we prefer an evergreen explanation or keep the work unpublished.
Primary and authoritative sources receive the greatest weight. Depending on the subject, these include government agencies, regulatory bodies, transportation authorities, airline policies, manufacturer manuals, official specifications, safety notices, and recognized accessibility organizations. We use industry organizations, established dealers, and experienced user reports for context when their role and limitations are clear.
Retail listings, summaries, discussion forums, and social posts can help identify questions but generally do not establish a critical fact by themselves. Artificial intelligence systems are never treated as factual sources. For rules, safety warnings, recalls, charging instructions, medical considerations, and product-specific limits, we look for an official source and state when readers need to verify current details directly.
Before publication, an article is checked for internal consistency, dates, names, links, units, and alignment between the headline and the evidence. Product comparisons distinguish general design differences from model-specific claims. We do not invent speed, range, weight capacity, price, battery size, airline acceptance, or real-world performance. If products vary, we describe the range of possible configurations and direct readers to the current manual or specification sheet.
Language such as “best,” “safest,” or “airline approved” requires special care. A product is not accepted on every trip merely because it is marketed for travel. An airline or security authority may need battery documentation, dimensions, advance notice, or other information. We use precise wording and avoid a universal promise where the decision belongs to a carrier, clinician, regulator, or individual.
Writers and editors may use digital tools to organize research, outline a page, improve readability, check links, or identify possible gaps. AI-assisted text must be reviewed for unsupported statements, fabricated citations, repetition, tone, and compliance with this policy. AI output does not bypass editorial review and cannot authorize publication. We do not knowingly publish invented experts, fake testimonials, fabricated product tests, or fictional organizations.
Each substantial article should provide a direct answer, a clear heading structure, practical takeaways, sources, a review date, and links to related site content. We prefer plain American English over jargon. When technical terminology is necessary, we explain what it means and why it matters to the reader.
Drafts are reviewed for completeness, source quality, factual risk, accessibility, and commercial clarity. A page with missing evidence, a placeholder image, unresolved safety language, or incomplete disclosure remains in draft. Publication is not determined by a fixed production quota. Quality and reader safety take priority over filling a category.
Review does not guarantee perfection. It is a documented effort to reduce avoidable error and to present uncertainty honestly. We may seek clarification from a manufacturer, airline, dealer, or organization, but receiving information from a source does not grant that source control over our conclusions.
Sponsored content, advertising, affiliate links, samples, or paid collaborations will be disclosed where relevant. Sponsored material must be distinguishable from independent editorial work. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a positive conclusion, a ranking, or continued inclusion. Editorial pages should not disguise a paid placement as neutral research.
When an affiliate link is used, a reader may generate compensation for the site without necessarily paying more. The existence of a link does not replace comparison criteria or source verification. See our Affiliate Disclosure for additional detail.
We review important pages when a known policy, standard, or product category changes and display a “Last reviewed” date on substantial articles. Minor edits may improve grammar, links, formatting, or clarity. Material corrections address information that could change a reader’s understanding or decision.
Readers can report a possible error through our Contact page. Helpful reports identify the exact statement and provide a primary source when possible. We evaluate the evidence, correct confirmed errors, and may add context or an editor’s note when the change is significant. We do not remove accurate information solely because it is unfavorable to a commercial interest.
Contributors should disclose a financial, employment, or close personal relationship that could create a meaningful conflict. We do not publish private medical details, account information, or personal contact data without a legitimate basis and appropriate permission. Questions about this policy may be sent to hello@mobilityscooterlab.com.
Editorial standards evolve with the site. When we revise this policy, the review date will be updated. The central commitments remain the same: use the strongest available sources, separate evidence from promotion, communicate uncertainty, correct material errors, and serve readers before advertisers.
